Amanda Marburg is a Melbourne-based painter. Her colourful oil paintings are the result of a mixed-media process of continual abstraction: making plasticine models, photographing them, and then painting from the photographs. Her work is playful, heightened, and slightly surreal.
Marburg has exhibited widely throughout Sydney, including a solo exhibition at the Newcastle Art Gallery. She was a finalist in the 2011 Archibald Prize.
