Mark Hanham studied at the National Art School and the College of Fine Arts. In 2011, after exhibiting extensively throughout Sydney, he proceeded to open his own art gallery in Surry Hills.
Hanham’s paintings are bold and expressive depictions of contemporary city landscapes. They delve into urban life, capturing the city's throng of constant action. In 2003 he was a finalist in the Sulman Art Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and in 2004 a finalist in the Paddington Art Prize.
