Robert Jacks ( b 1943 - )

Robert Jacks, born in 1943 in Melbourne is one of Australia’s most significant abstract artists. In the 1970s Jacks lived and worked from a loft in Soho, New York where minimalism and conceptualism had a great influence on his work. He has exhibited his colourful geometrical abstract works consistently throughout New York, Canada and Melbourne including famous 1968 the field exhibition at the re-opening of the National Gallery of Victoria and the Robert Jacks Drawing Prize at Bendigo Art Gallery.
