Vic O’Connor is a renowned Australian social realist painter, printmaker and drawer. His work engages social commentary to explore Australian life and landscapes. Particularly interested in post-war Melbourne and history, O'Connor shines a stark, dramatic light on class stratification and the urban experience.  

 

A distinct voice in Australian art, O’Connor’s work is represented in numerous public institutions including at the National Gallery of Australia and National Gallery of Victoria.
