Adrienne Gaha’s work is in perpetual flux. Caught between figurative and abstract, liquid and still and spontaneous and considered, her work is like a mirage - shifting under the eye. This restlessness is as much an aesthetic, as it is an existential insight. Rather than resolved, Gaha invites speculation, delighting in the dance of interpretation.

The male nude is a recurring theme in Gaha’s work. She began depicting it after visiting France with her husband and fellow artist Tim McGuire. A thoughtful and talented draughtsman, Gaha is represented in several public collections including the National Gallery of Victoria and continues to exhibit widely.

‘Reclining Male Nude’ marks a superb addition to collections of classic and contemporary art, as well as works on paper and depictions of the human form.
