Ruth Johnston is a highly respected Australian printmaker. Her work has been included in exhibitions that look at the slippery division between originality and copy, Aboriginal history and local ecology.

‘Untitled (Eucalyptus Leaf)’ is a most unusual work. It is a print of a real eucalyptus leaf, pressed onto paper – a wisp of ephemeral nature caught in eternity. Like a fingerprint, this leaf is unique yet quintessential, conjuring the distinct tang of the Australian bush.

Johnston is represented at the National Gallery of Australia, British Museum, Parliament House, Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Australia and many more. Her work is widely renowned – unique, and deftly moving.

For collectors of contemporary prints, and avid bushwalkers this vestige of the outdoors will delight.
