Noel McKenna 'Street Corner 1987'

Regular price $1,800.00

Noel McKenna' s work constructs a domestic universe, often inhabited by placid animals or a nameless, lone figure. In 'Street Corner', we catch this subject at the fringe of a seemingly empty street. There is a twinge of the strange, that makes this otherwise familiar scene enchanting. This is perhaps McKenna' s core talent - to miraculously balance humour and sadness. McKenna s work is represented in most prominent public collections. He is also the recipient of many prestigious prizes, including five times for the Trustees Watercolour Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
