March 2018 sadly saw the death of Sudan, the last male Northern White Rhinoceros. An ambitious project to revive the species through stem cell technology using surrogate female southern white rhinos is currently underway at the San Diego Zoo.
In this work, John Olsen pays tribute the endangered species. A genuine animal lover, Olsen's work celebrates all forms of life, seeing everything from the land to its inhabitants as interconnected. In 'White Rhino', his vision falls on one of Africa's most magnificent creatures. Bursting with life yet embedded in an urgent context, this work is both visually impressive and culturally vital.
Olsen is among Australia s most recognised and iconic artists. With a career spanning over 50 years, Olsen's work is celebrated and collected by all major Australian institutions. Made of the finest museum quality archival materials, this collectable limited edition print is hand signed by the artist.
For collectors of Olsen and environmentalists, this work promises to inspire, acting as poignant reminder to protect nature.
