In his work, Victor Rubin explores the self and environment. With equal parts seriousness and ambiguity, he traverses the history of Western art. In ‘Untitled (Sunflowers)’ Rubin picks up after Vincent Van Gogh. Like sunflowers to the sun, the viewer cannot help but turn to face this sun-drenched work.

Rubin is represented in many public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
